No, not really. If you know coding it might help you in conversations with Developers and/or technical people, but it’s not a requirement at all.
In the field, you’ll find Business Analysts without any coding experience or technical background but on ocassion you find the opposite.
Personally, I actuall think it’s better if you’re not a technical person or someone wtih a technical background when you work as a BA since that will drive you to ask more questions and understand better those who are not in technical roles or positions (which tend to be the majority of people).
So not knowing to code would allow you to place yourself in the shoes of your stakeholders, end-users, customers and so on. It’s actually an advantage in many ways.
But if you also know how to code, great. Nothing wrong with that 🙂
